Decor Elements Samples

I've been getting some questions about the NEW Decor Elements - soooooooooooo - I wanted to show off some VERY cool samples that I ran across.
Why did Stampin' Up! venture down this alley?

The Décor Elements product line is another way to let you express your creativity-just on a larger canvas than a card or scrapbook page! This natural extension of our products is also right on trend, and our artwork converts from stamp sets to wall art images with ease. SU brought you Two-Step Stampin', so why not two-step and three-step wall art that will really catch your attention? Apply a frame, then choose a letter to go inside it.

This from SU - Décor Elements images work well on the following surfaces:

• Smooth, nontextured, drywall walls painted with matte or glossy paint
• Other smooth, nontextured surfaces, such as glass or metal
• Smooth, nontextured wallpaper
• Flat, smooth, finished wood surfaces, such as paneling or doors

We do not recommend that you apply Décor Elements images to the following surfaces:
• Textured or uneven surfaces
• Brick
• Oil-based surfaces

BUT....if you look at the bathroom photo above - you'll see that the wall is an eggshell texture - so they do work on textured surfaces!!!!

I can't wait to get a laptop and customize it like the lime green one above!!!! With the holidays FAST approaching - what a GREAT gift idea!!!!!

If you have any questions about the Decor Elements - don't hesitate to contact me!

It's Just An Illusion!

FAUX TEARING TECHNIQUE

GET YOUR BRAYERS OUT!!!!
I was out prowling around on Splitcoaststampers.com (SCS) today and found a tutorial on a technique that I used a few years ago...but kind of forgot about! I don't know how that happens - do you? It's super cool and just an illusion of an extra layer of cardstock on each of these cards!

Anyhow - here's a link to the tutorial:

It's a really great technique, especially if you don't have a SUPER stash of cardstock colors - saves on layers too...but gives the impression of more than one layer.

Here's some samples I found - now don't give me any credit for these cards...they are all from SCS - so many INCREDIBLY talented stampers!

Swimsuit Shopping

I'll bet you're going....WHAT???? YES - that's right - I went swimsuit shopping this morning. I'm leaving in about a week and a half for my Founder's Circle trip to Utah. It's going to be 80 degrees during the day there (or so they tell me) and I REALLY need a new swimsuit...because my main form of entertainment while I'm there - is to worship my sun GODESS and read a book!

I really don't want to wear my current suit...because it's super old (about 10 yrs - don't tell anyone) and the strap that broke a few years ago is tied together! LOL I know...I know... But you know how hard it is to find a NEW swimsuit??? I'll bet you do! My friend told me to "get rid of that trailer trash suit!" And I did a couple years ago....well I put it away...I couldn't bring myself to ACTUALLY throw it out! I bought a new suit and wore it for 2 years...but that one fell apart too and I really didn't like it anyhow - no tears shed here! LOL

So anyways...back to my shopping trip today. After a COMPLETE failure at the swimsuit store, we stopped at Gordmans. I fell in love with this piece! I haven't purchased any type of new decor for my home since I became a Demonstrator and after spending the morning watching (while cleaning my kitchen) home make-over shows on TV - I thought I better start updating my decor. How'd I do?

More Swap Cards!

I'm burying myself in swaps lately - but it's OH SO MUCH FUN to get them back in the mail!

Here's a swap that went out on Friday. This is a BRAND NEW stamp set call A Flower for All Seasons. I received this as one of my Award stamp sets. It's featured on page 87 of the NEW Fall/Winter Catalog. I'm in love with the image that has the frog in it! But I wanted to use the sunflower for this swap, because I think it's more "fallish." Is that a word...I think not...but I have a habit of making up my own words...you all know what I mean! LOL
Ingredients:
Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons; Celebrate Everything; Baroque Motifs
Ink: Basic Black; Kiwi Kiss
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red; Kiwi Kiss; Whisper White; Bella Rose Designer Paper
Accessories: Faux Stitching Template; Rich Regal Brads; Boho Flower Punch; Aqua Painter; Watercolor Crayons; Stamp-a-Ma-Jig; Dimensionals
Here's a close up. I used the Baroque Motifs stamp on the background of the white and HAD to use the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for the Celebrate Your Day words - I SOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo love that little tool - it really saved me from having a bunch of "do-overs!" Is that a word? LOL
Thanks for looking!
P.S. How do you like my blog makeover? I thought it needed a little facelift today!
